Storage Permission — Why We Need It

We explicitly declare that storage permission is NOT used to steal, transmit, or exploit your personal data. It is used solely to read and save status media on your device.

Because of how Android protects your files, our app requests different storage permissions based on your device's Android version:

phone_android Android 10 and older

We request standard READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permissions. This allows the app to find and read the temporary status files on your device and write/save them to your gallery.

phone_android Android 11 and newer

Android introduced stricter file protections. Therefore, we use the Storage Access Framework (SAF). We do not ask for broad storage access. Instead, we ask you to grant access only to the specific folder where statuses are saved.

Why we need it: The sole purpose of our app is to act as a "Status Saver". To do this, the app must read the specific folders on your device where messaging apps temporarily cache status images and videos.

Data Safety: We DO NOT upload these files to any server. We DO NOT access your general photos, personal documents, or files unrelated to statuses. All media processing happens entirely offline on your device, securely.

When someone shares a status, the messaging app automatically downloads and saves those media files into a temporary local folder on your device's storage. Our app plays no role at this stage.

Our app simply reads that same local folder where files have already been saved. We use Android's standard Storage Access Framework (SAF) or storage permissions to access only that specific folder — nothing else.
